Sun Yun-Suan Memorial Museum

http://www.sysmm.org/

Nestled in the south of Taipei city, Sun Yun-Suan Memorial Museum used to be the residence of Sun Yun-Suan during his tenure as the Premier of Taiwan. He moved into this residence in 1980 and stayed for 26 years until he passed away in 2006.
It was on these premises that Premier Sun conceived important national policies and formulated implementation guidelines. To commemorate his contribution to Taiwan and to preserve the unique occidental-oriental architectural style of the 1920s, the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government designated this residence to be a Municipal Historic Site in 2006. The Sun Yun-Suan Foundation is responsible for planning and managing the Museum as well as exploring ways to make the best use of the historic site.

The museum, stretching over 866 pings (almost 2800 m2), comprises houses of mixed occidental and oriental architectural styles, an annex and a garden. The permanent exhibition depicts blooming years and arduous times of Taiwan’s economic development and portrays moments of Sun’s personal life with narratives, snapshots, and artifacts. The thematic exhibition presents temporary exhibits related to science, technology and humanities. The annex, featuring a shed roof in line with the tiled gable top of the historic buildings, offers venues for cultural exchange through talks and seminars, performances and classes. Enveloping the premises is a garden with Sun’s favorite fish pond and towering old trees among fragrant osmanthus planted by Mrs. Sun.
In addition to highlighting Sun’s exemplary dedication and devotion, the memorial museum also serves as a recreational place for leisurely rest and organized events, as a cultural site both traditional and modern, profound yet welcoming, and as a platform where technology, arts, humanities and life are innovatively harmonized.

The Wall Music/ Korner

THE WALL MUSIC was founded in 2003 as an adventurous gamble by a few individuals who really cared about music, and now it has grown to become a major cultural force throughout Taiwan. We have established top quality live houses in the three cities of Taipei, Kaohsiung and Yilan and produced Taiwan’s top music festivals in Formoz and the Megaport Festival. Through these activities, we have built up an environment for live performance, cultivated audiences, and greatly expanded Taiwan’s market for indie music. For Taiwan’s increasingly ravenous music fans, THE WALL MUSIC is a staple in the rock-n-roll diet. Its efforts have unleashed a passion for live performances that Taiwan’s mu sic industry never thought possible.

MEDIATIONS BIENNALE

http://mediations.pl/biennale/

The Mediations Biennale draws on the tradition of the Inner Spaces Festival (initiated in 1993), as well as exhibitions organised in the countries of Asia, America and Europe. It also calls upon Asia -Europe Mediations (Poznań, 2007), an event which featured artists from 23 Asian and 21 European countries.Mediations Biennale is a presentation of the latest achievements in art, concentrating on a dialogue between different cultures of the world and artistic explorations of creators from Central Europe. Through relating to the historical and cultural experience the Mediations Biennale wants to offer a different platform, different sensitivity, and a different perspective in the perception of global processes. The first edition of Mediations Biennale took place in 2008 and featured over 240 artists. The event comprised 16 exhibitions shown in several exposition spaces in Poznań. The core of the programme consisted of three exhibitions curated by Yu Yeon Kim, Lóránd Hegyi and Gu Zhenqing. Main idea of the Mediations Biennale is mediation, a dialogue between different cultures of the world, based on the experience and exploration of the culture and art of Central Europe.

There is a beautiful town surrounded by magnificent nature not very far from the city. A rural landscape covered with morning dew, atmospheric historical onsen (hot spring) villages, wooden school buildings trapped in time and old farm houses. Mountain village scenery left behind in a bustling world and a life full of personal connections. Artists live and create on this land and make their own platforms, many new human connections will be born. A big art event with creations by artists and local residents, “The 6th Nakanojo Biennale” will begin soon.

VideoBardo International Videopoetry Festival

http://www.videopoesia.com/

VideoBardo International VideopotryFestival, was founded in 1996 and has appeared in important venues in 19 countries. We understand for videopoesía, any audiovisual work in which the poetic verbal language have the leadership. So the moving image, sound universe, and the poetic and experimental verbality are a dialogue in a whole harmony. We also understand that videopoetry exceeds the own video's technology and can be presented in different formats as cinema, electronic poetry, audiovisual performance, installation, precarious projectors, laser, moving holography, fire and shadows, etc. We bring to the Festival Osmosis a selection of Argentine videopoetry. The criterion is to present different aesthetics and styles, in this case in single-channel mode.
